Its been a while since I penned anything down ... I seem to be saying this all the time. I have no excuse but the that of reaching a plateau while living on the hills of everywhere.
I have been too busy chasing a dream and trying to realise it. The dream being as simple as setting up a house ... a man, a wife and maybe some kids? It of course has started with the process of getting the required visa and that the requirements have well and above gone beyond the stipulated time of 14 months still going +++ . Is this long enough to see how patience can perhaps build or destroy a 'relationship?' Its as simple as the viewpoint of many ... for one lets give 'redtape a name' ... American Consulate, Mumbai.
On the day of the interview, which has taken a goodly 12 months. am, pretty much nervous, one very good friend having told me 'I'd be screwed with the kind of questions they ask...all personal' I am informed. I am ready, almost.
But, what does one say to the interviewer sitting on one side of the room when she says disparagingly, " you waited eight years to tie the knot?'
It was not like me thinking 'she should be impressed... how we have been faithful to each other and deserves to be finally with each other'. Her question or statement is a slap.
It is definitely a slap handed out in a paper that demands for more proofs of the relationship. How does one prove 'fidelity, hope, love and dreams?' Has anyone been able to present anything tangible for these?
Am thinking and mulling 'bloody hell! what about that friend of mine who went ahead like so many others on a fake 'relationship equalling only a green card idea of how love should be' and the consulate representatives had nothing to question except (as I was told)' what is the underwear brand of your fiance/fiancee?' Hmmmm , I 'd have said Fruit of the Loom
... the one Adam gave to Eve.
Ciao, till then.
