something for chai-pani

" there has been a strict order given by the higher ups that we should in no way cooperate with you all for the photo-story that you all intend to cover here in mumbai." says an officer at the social crime branch.
"please note in any other circumstance i would have helped you all four times more ...but, for this story we have strict regulations." and so the whining goes on. there are multiple excuses that can be argued about endlessly and with legal loopholes wide enough to let elephants pass. but we are cited supreme court dictats. which which which - with a nice packet, offcials from any government office could be bought for.
and so the ngo - rescue foundation decides to do the pimp job, " you will have to give us Rs 25000 for the cops. then we might be able to let you come to the raid with us in the brothels."
a one week work schedule is turned helter skelter into a 20 days + + mind boggling route that has exposed trafficking of women and children, from across borders, the state (maharashtra - a mega hub for such) - as sex workers. ...
am in a hurry now - too much info, will continue in my next post and there will be more gory details.
however, first of all i will start by recounting the lives of a few sex-workers, who i had the fortune to meet. they were some of the bravest person i ever met.
